Bloomingdale's is apologizing to customers after alarming social media posts about the company's holiday ad claimed it encouraged date rape.

The controversial ad, which is for Rebecca Minkoff merchandise, includes a woman staring off while a man stands behind her, looking in her direction. The caption unbelievably reads, "Spike Your Best Friend's Eggnog When They're Not Looking."

The retailer recently admitted in a Facebook post: "In reflection of recent feedback, the copy we used in our recent catalog was inappropriate and in poor taste. Bloomingdale's sincerely apologizes for this error in judgement."

However, since the distasteful ad already appears in a print catalog, it is impossible to "pull."
