Your Game-Ready Recipe for Football Puppy Chow

There's no denying that everyone loves puppy chow! It’s easy to make, convenient to serve at parties and oh-so-insanely addictive.

It’s also safe to say everyone loves a theme party, which is why we’re revamping everyone’s favorite party treat and transforming it into the cutest football-themed snack to enjoy this fall with your friends and family.

Whether you’re attending a tailgate, hosting a football party or just kicking back and watching the game with your significant other, a few little tweaks and fun garnishes can turn that beloved puppy chow into the most festive football-themed treat of the season. 

Football Puppy Chow

Ingredients for the white puppy chow:
3 cups original Chex cereal
¾ cup white chocolate chips
1 tsp coconut oil, melted
2 heaping tbsp nut butter of choice
Drop of vanilla extract
¾ cup powdered sugar 

Ingredients for the brown puppy chow:
3 cups original Chex cereal
¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp coconut oil, melted
2 heaping tbsp nut butter of choice
¾ cup powdered sugar
Drop of vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt 

Mini football decorations
Football flag toothpicks
Candy-coated chocolates, nuts or mints covered in your team’s colors
Football field containers 

Method for the white puppy chow:
1. Pour the 3 cups of Chex into a large bowl and set aside.
2. Combine the white chocolate, coconut oil, nut butter and vanilla in a bowl and microwave until it’s fully incorporated, melted and smooth; then toss the white chocolate mixture together with the Chex.
3. Fold in the powdered sugar, spread the chow onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper and set aside. 

Method for the brown puppy chow:
1. Repeat steps for white puppy chow using the semi-sweet chocolate instead.

Lastly, combine both the white and brown in a large serving bowl. Add in your team colored candies and mini footballs and toss to combine. Spoon the chow into the football containers, top them with football flags and enjoy!
