OMG, my heart is exploding right now. Dad of the year just passed out candy to everyone on the flight so his 3 year old could trick or treat pic.twitter.com/vfsAcYNrhr— Stephanie Kahan (@stephaniekahan) November 1, 2016
A dad and his toddler had a cross-country flight on Halloween night so he came up with a way to make sure his daughter didn't miss out.
The creative dad handed out candy to the other passengers on board the flight from Boston to San Fransisco along with a note explaining his plan.
“My 3-year-old daughter, Molly, was bummed that she wouldn’t be able to go trick-or-treating this year due to this flight, so I decided to bring trick-or-treating to her,” the note explained. “If you are willing, when my little donut comes down the aisle, please drop this in her basket. You’ll be making her Halloween!”
A passenger on board, Stephanie Kahan, took a picture of the sweet note and wrote, “My heart absolutely melted.”
She recalled that she had overheard the little girl talking about trick-or-treating before she saw the note.
“I was so sad for her because I thought she was planning to trick or treat when we landed, which was midnight in SF, and I knew she was going to be disappointed,” Kahan told HuffPost. “But sure enough, about an hour and a half into the flight the dad started passing out treats with the note attached.”
Kahan said the other passengers were "thrilled" to help make the girl's night special.
“When she got back to her seat, the dad asked if she had fun, and she said she was ready to eat the candy,” Kahan said.
