According to PEOPLE, the queen is battling a cold and is taking some much-needed rest time, “Her Majesty The Queen will not attend Sunday worship at Sandringham today,” the Buckingham Palace statement says adding, “The Queen does not yet feel ready to attend church as she is still recuperating from a heavy cold.”
The Queen was last spotted on December 9th while hosting the ambassador of Liberia at the Buckingham Palace.
While traditions are traditions and the queen missed out, Prince William, Princess Kate, and Prince George and Princess Charlotte spent the holidays with Kate’s family this year. Meanwhile, Zara Tindall also said no to the invite after opting to stay in after her recent miscarriage with her second child.
Here’s to hoping 2017 brings better health and happiness for the royal family.
