Starting Jan. 10, the chain will be offering Sous Vide Egg Bites, which are mini concoctions of eggs and other delicious flavors sure to make your mornings a little tastier.
The tasty offerings are made using the sous vide method of cooking, which involves immersing vacuum-sealed food in water and cooking it at a precise and consistent temperature, rather than having food be cooked in butter or oils.
Starbucks teamed up with Cuisine Solutions to create the bites, which will be offered in two flavors, Bacon and Gruyere and Egg White and Roasted Red Pepper. Each order gives customers a serving of two bites.
The mini-meals are great a way for customers to get their mornings off to a low-carb, high-protein start, as two Bacon and Gruyere bites have 310 calories per serving and 19 grams of protein and two Egg White and Roasted Red Pepper bites have 170 calories per serving and 13 grams of protein.
“People are more conscious of what they are eating,” explained Eveline Chao-Rivera, Starbucks brand manager. “Many are skipping out on bread and focusing on nutritious protein to fuel their increasingly busy days.”
“Time and time again, we learned that customers were ordering our breakfast sandwiches without the bread or requesting more vegetarian options,” Chao-Rivera added. “We knew that we had a very specific need to satisfy.”
