My aunt is marrying a sheriff. Their invitation nearly gave everyone a heart attack.

In what might be the greatest practical joke ever, a sheriff recently invited guests to his wedding in the best way he knows how.

In a post shared to Reddit on Thursday, a user by the name of Exsupervillain shared two photographs of a wedding invitation that at first glance, look a lot like a legal citation with the words, “Notice to Appear.”

However, on closer inspection and opening the letter, it’s clear that the spoof summons is actually an invite to the nuptials of two people identified only as Matt and Nancy asking to RSVP by April 14.

“My aunt is marrying a sheriff,” the Reddit user wrote. “Their invitation nearly gave everyone a heart attack.”

While not much else is known about the highly realistic legal document, the image is now going viral for its wickedly hilarious resemblance.
