An Australian Police Department Adopted a Stray Cat and Now He's an Official 'Police Cat'

A police station in Bourke, Australia has adopted a stray cat and made him their official police cat, and the cuddly creature has quickly become one of the cutest members of the force.

“A cold and hungry cat appeared at Bourke Police Station, and over the next few weeks this cat has adopted the Bourke Police Station as his new home,” a post on the department's Facebook page read. “He enjoys lots of cuddles, chasing mice, walking about the station and assisting officers with their paperwork.”

The feline has since been christened P.C. Splashe, after a drink made in Bourke, and he's been upping the department's cuteness factor with every photo shared to Facebook. Whether he's playing in his cat tree or working on a case, Splashe has been stealing hearts all over Bourke.

“Look at what my police family brought me today!” read a photo of the climbing tree. “Just quietly I think they love me as much as I love them  #fureverhome #stationcat”

The department shared that little Splashe arrived at the station several weeks ago and has since been de-sexed, wormed, vaccinated and micro chipped.
