This is proof that “there are still people out there who make a difference.”
Last year, an Alabama teen was arrested for shoplifting food from a local Walmart. On Wednesday, Sheena Davenport went to court to deal with her charge and didn't expect what happened after.
She wrote in to the Love What Matters page on Facebook and revealed that she was “struggling like no other” when she shoplifted and didn’t know what else to do.
“Well today in court as I got my paperwork to leave I had an officer stop and tell me to wait for her outside,” she wrote. “I proceeded outside for her to tell me to follow her.”
Davenport followed the police officer to Winn-Dixie grocery store and was told to grab a shopping cart. Officer Katrina purchased $139 worth of food for Davenport and two friends.
“After I told her she didn't have to do it she started telling me her struggle and how she made it through,” she said.
Davenport ended her posted, writing, “When my time comes I will pay it forward.”
