Dunkin' fans rejoice!
The doughnut and coffee chain is giving away free samples of its new summer drink today, May 19, Business Insider reports.
To garner some publicity and excitement for the launch, Dunkin' will offer customers free samples of the beverage until 2 p.m., while supplies last.
The company swapped the Coffee Coolatta for the Frozen Coffee because the original drink wasn't living up to the chain's standards, executives said at the brand's March media day.
In comparison, the Coolatta was more of a sugary dessert. A large frozen mocha with cream clocked in at a whopping 990 calories and 133 grams of sugar. The new Frozen Coffee doesn't fare much better with 840 calories and 125 grams of sugar, but it's targeting customers who are searching for a warm-weather caffeine fix.
Still, many customers aren't pleased with the change.
"The only thing I ever go to Dunkin for is coffee coolatta. My daughter too," one customer wrote on Dunkin' Donuts' Facebook page. "Tried the frozen coffee this morning. Not impressed. It's like getting an iced coffee that's too light. Won't be going back."
