Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth tied the knot in May, but it appears some of the 19-year-old's family members had a few reservations beforehand.
In a new clip from the Duggar family's TLC show, Counting On, Jessa (Duggar) Seewald expresses her concerns over her sister's young age, noting that Joy-Anna is the youngest of the Duggar girls to be courting.
"Joy is 19, so she's the youngest one of all of us girls so far to be in a courtship — and now on the edge of an engagement," the 24-year-old said in an on-camera interview.
"I think it's sort of young, but she's very mature for her age and they've known each other for a long time," she continued. "So I think she and Austin are ready for this next step whenever it comes about."
Also in the clip, Forsyth, who is 23, asked Joy-Anna's father, Jim Bob Duggar, for permission to marry her.
“It’s a good thing you stopped by
Jim Bob simply replied, "
"I think it was about a year ago that you came and asked me for permission to get to know Joy on a closer friendship level," he continued. "I can’t believe it’s been a year.”
Clearly, everything worked out, as Joy-Anna and her beau are now officially married.
