A Bear Was Caught on Tape Raiding the Fridge of a Colorado Home

| Trending News

A Colorado man was in for a real surprise when he woke up on July 4.

His kitchen was unexpectedly messy, with food strewn everywhere and unusual marks on his refrigerator. He was in for an even bigger shock when he took a look at his home security footage and discovered a bear had been wandering around his house for five hours while he slept.

In the video, the bear can be seen opening the fridge as casually as a human would, rummaging through the cabinets. He then wanders down the hallway and checks the other rooms in the house.

The bear entered through a closed window and left before the homeowner woke up.

"It's unsettling to know that something that powerful and something that untamed and potentially dangerous is roaming around your house for five hours," Chris O'Dubrhraic told Fox5.

After he determined what happened, O'Dubrhaic called the police and wildlife officials to report the incident and the bear had to be put down.

"Unfortunately that bear has learned too much about bad behavior," said Corey Adler, of Colorado Parks and Wildlife. "We have to then put that bear down."
